Not Sure What You Want To Do In The Future ?

Book A Vocational Guidance Interview (VGI) with a qualified Guidance Adviser to help you decide and plan what’s best for you.

What is a VGI?
A VGI is a ¾ hour long interview with an adviser which gives you options on future jobs / careers and how to do a certain career. It is not telling you what to do it is simply helping you narrow down to a few careers that would suit you as an individual.

Who would have a VGI?
Someone who is uncertain of a career they would like to go into or someone who has been in a job / training and not enjoyed it for what ever reason and would like to change their career path.

During a VGI you will discuss:

  • Previous experience
  • Qualifications
  • Likes and Dislikes
  • Opportunities available
  • Your next step

This helps the adviser narrow it down to a few suitable careers. Information is then given on the careers including information on what the job involves, skills required, training offered, promotion and salary prospects plus much more

Peer Educators

We currently have 9 young parents who have been extensively trained to be Peer Educators in Secondary schools in Tameside. They will come to talk to year 10 students about protecting their sexual health and preventing teen parent pregnancies by sharing their experience and promoting choice and training.
