Gay, lesbian, bisexual or straight, you might feel confused about your sexuality, and your feelings could change at different stages of your life.

There are plenty of places to go for information, help and advice on all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and transgender issues.

  • Schools Out (National) Campaigns for Equality in schools for LGBT issues.
  • 'Outloud' is a group for LGBT young people in Tameside. The group is looking for young people aged 14-19 who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans. They meet every Tuesday between 5.30 -8.30pm at Cyclops on Charlestown Industrial Estate, Ashton under Lyne (the industrial park behind the train station).
  • Lesbian & Gay Foundation has lots of information on local groups and activities. Helpline: 0845 3 30 30 30 or e-mail 6-10pm 365 days a year
  • LIKT: Young Lesbian & Bisexual Women’s Peer Health Project. It works with young lesbian and bisexual people aged 14-25 to improve women's health. For more information: e-mail
  • The Terence Higgins Trust offers specific support to young people around sexual health. Tel: 0845 12 21 200 Mon - Fri 10.00am - 10.00pm, Sat - Sun 12noon - 6.00pm.
  • Albert Kennedy Trust (Greater Manchester) provides housing support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people. A mentor service is also available to prevent homelessness or can be used as an outreach service with unsupported accommodation. Tel: 0161 228 3308 or e-mail
