Most of us experience a few 'ups and downs' in our lives that make us feel happy or sad and miserable. For example, you might be worried:

  • because you’ve got exams coming up
  • about getting a job
  • about going to college

These can all make you feel down, as can things like

  • falling out with your friends or family
  • finishing a relationship

You might feel stressed or depressed: it’s quite common and, usually, the feelings will come and go. Sometimes, though, you might not be able to shake off your feelings so you should talk to someone you feel that you can trust – friends, parents, your Personal Adviser or your GP as you might have a medical condition that needs some treatment.
